[Aborted Priciples zine No.5 The Netherlands]
The band describes its music as hard stuff, and that´s generally what it´s all about. There are influences noticeable varying from hardcore to thrash and death, and actually the band´s developing more towards the hardcore the side these days as I ´ve understood from drumboy Oliver. The demo has a pretty good sound, and I especially liked the Cover Photo, showing a nun on one side and a bonded half-naked femalecreature on the otherside. I wonder who´s meant by the title, BITCH? There are 11 songs of aggressive and intense thrashcore hard stuff music on this demo, so if you´re looking for something not typically death metal, contact Sick of Society.



[Boot Murder News No.3 Germany]
Anfangen tut das Ganze mit einem tot geilen Industrial-Like Intro, das schön düster und aggressiv das Tape einleitet. Danach schleudert mit Hardcore-Thrash aus Deutschen Landen um die Ohren, der stellenweise echt gut treibt und derb rüberkommt. Dass die Band wie sie selbst sagt, bis jetzt nur schlechte Kritiken bekam ist nicht fair, denn die meisten Songs sind vom Songwriting her gut gemacht und für eine Nachwuchsband dieser Kategorie völlig o.k. Leider lassen sich gelegentliche Timing-Probleme nicht verschweigen. Des weiteren trübten meine Hörfreuden diverse Rüpls & Kotz-Intros gefolgt von Sauf-Hymnen. Naja. Der Sound ist für ein 4 Spur Demo ganz passabel, wäre aber anzuhören wenn sich die Kids in Zukunft in dieser Hinsicht etwas anderes überlegen würden. Der Gesang ist auch noch positiv zu erwähnen, da er sich nahezu bei jedem Song anders anhört, je nach Stimmung (mal tief, mal verzerrt, mal clean) wobei bei einem Lied noch der FLESHCRAWL Shouter ausgeholfen hat. Insgesamt sind also die 7 Songs (30 min) recht hörenswert. Wer wissen will, was in der Deutschen Hardcore-Szene nachkommt, der bestellt für 10,- DM bei Oliver Kast, Römerstrasse 26, 89269 Vöhringen

Comme le diriat un certain professeur: “C´est de la merde, je l´ai chié ce matin !“ Dans la famille sous raclure je vourdrais le géniteur. La médiocrité des musiciens est habilement souligneé par une mise en placeapproximative. Ces gens lá nous assénent avec la finesse d´un équarrisseur Hutu/Tutsi, des remugles d´un Thrash éculé, sans substance et ils s´adonnent volontiers au Deathavec le meme brio. J´allias oublier la piéce maitresse de cette démo : le concours de rots et petsimmortalisés. Ah si seulementla classe existait toujours !




[Fear of Life Mag No.3 Netherlands ]
Sick of Society is a German band that was formed in December 1989 under the name Wicked Power. As a trio they released two demo´s and after a line up was completed (four member) and they changed the namem this “Bitch”-Demo was released. It conains eleven tracks in which are all kinds of music are mixed, such as thrash, hardcore, death, power, funk etc. This results in a demo that´s full of variation, both on the music level as well as on the vocal level; the vocalist primarily use understandable vocals but sometimes alsu deathgrunts. All this variation assure that Sick of Society leaves behind an original, special impression. Hard–Stuff-Music is what they call it, and that´s not a bad devenition. The idea´s are good, but the execution of those idea´s could be better, it sounds a bit messy at times.

Formerly known as Wicked Power, this Germanquartet cut a couple of Demos in the early nineties but after recruiting a bass player, Jörg Keller, they´ve opted for a change of name. Unfamiliar with their previous work I´m a little confused by Sick Of Society. Bitsch is an eleven Song demo coming in at over thirty minutes . S.O.S. displays a wealth of styles within the time alloued coming up with something diverse although not unique. “Excession of Thoughts” and “Blind Dependence / Keep it on Ice “ are in the Death Metalveinwith the latter featuring back-ups courtesy of Fleshcrawls vocalist Bastian Herzog. On the whole most of their material is in heavy thrashy styl with some progressive riffs aboundingnow and then . “Lost in Korea” begins with some burping before delvinginto a hardcore/punk vibe and ending with a butt-head sample while “brainwash” is just some old thrashy played fairly straight-forward and having that early to mid eighties feel while “Inner Nothing” captures the band´s more industiral side.

Früher waren Sick of Society unter dem Namen Wicked Power unterwegs, vielleicht sagt es ja dem einen oder anderem noch etwas, denn immerhin kann man schon auf das dritte demo verweisen und hat sich auch live einen Namen gemacht. Auf dem neuesten Output „Bitch“ befinden sich dann auch elf mehr oder weniger gelungene Songs, wobei die Anzahl aber über die tatsächliche Länge hinwegtäuscht, denn mehrere bewegen sich in der Preislage um eine Minute. Musikalisch versucht man sich an thrashigem Core, wobei die Umsetzung der Songideen manchmal etwas holprig wirkt. Auch der Sound ist nicht so optimal, die Drums hören sich des öfteren an, als sich eine Kinderhorde Topfschlagen versammelt. Trotzdem antestenswert.

Very intressting what this German band reserves for us. A perfect Babel filledwith styles an Thrash, Punk, Death, Heavy... The list could be extended. I enjoyed the 11 songs immensly. Especially the surprising breaks gained my favour. Songs as ”Lost in Korea” cannot be surpassed. Mahlzeit! They make fun of music. It reminds me of TANKARD. I can assure you won´t be sick and tired of it. They have a talent for music. Very complex, melodic items. Don´t miss it.



[Numskull summer ´94 Netherlands ]
Starting with a nice spoken intro with some slight industrial influences I expected more than I got. Thrash Core. Even though it´s pretty catchy and they have a guest appearenceof Bastian Herzog (Fleshcrawl) I still think their music has a childish an amaturistic touch. Escecially something like “Schlussgschmarri” a tv sound compilation does fit on thistape, or maybe it´s typicalfor their music, but then, what is a song like “S.O.S.” doing an this tape which is pretty good and has an emotional idea behind it? I don´t know. I think we must see it as a band with some good ideas, but which hasn´t found it´s direction... Variation for people who dare to take the risk... [Rockfabrick 5 94 Germany ]
Nicht näher eingehen will ich auf das Demo dieser Band, da das abgelieferte “Meisterwerk” eher ein schlechter Scherz als ernst zunehmen ist. Falls ihr ein Verlangen nach anfängerhaftem HC meets Deathmetal habt, meldet euch bei der Band. Ach ja, 11 Songs sind dem Tape beigepflichtet. Im vergleich zur Musik verdienen sich die nervenden Intros bzw Outros von Dumpfbacke Bundy und Beavis + Butthead das Prädikat wertvoll, bleibt am Schluss ernsthaft die Frage offen, ob die Intros und Outros niveauvoller sind als die Songs an sich, aber dies darf der Kämpfer selbst entscheiden.



[Steady Diet zine No.7 England]
How do ya fancy a 30 min. plus demo that is brutal in its intensity, inventive in its intention? Germany´s SOS play grindcore that is totally ugly and confrontational. Even the graphics leave you feeling unsettled. The soundbites of trouble women, tortured emotionalsand industrial textures tell aus that the eniroment of this band is definitely sick. SOS are also devotees of some drink called Korea.

At last, a tape from a band who play style of music that I really get into ... ... I Just want my life back... .. I just want my life back... ... Just give me my life back! 11 Songs of Angst ridden Hate covering lot of arease such as hardcore thrash, Grindcore, sound experiments. Mellow keyboard and acustic sectionsetc. One song even has similarity with our own H.L.A.H. and SHIHAD(“Senseless: Black”). Something slightlydifferent for an underground demo. Another band who I hope to have an interview within SUBCIDE #3.



[Troubadicks No.5 Germany ]
Die meisten Musiker sind ja als Biertrinker bekannt, manche wie Tankard oder die Megalomaniax widmen sich wiederum dem Äbbelwoi, wogegen Lemmy und Co halt auf Whisky schwören. Sick of Society hingegen pfeifen auf all dies und schwören nicht etwa dem Mineralwasser, sondern auf …Korea! Dies wird an allen möglichen Stellen des Demos erwähnt, mit „Lost in Korea“ zollt man diesem gar musikalisch noch Tribut. Wo´s musikalisch langgeht dürfte bereits am Namen erkennbar sein, richtig, Hardcore. Nachdem die Jungs sich auf dem Running Wild Konzert unser letztes Mag erstanden haben, flatterte mir drei Tage später Post von der Band ins Haus, welches sich frech und ergreifend „Bitch“ nennt. Leider überzeugen SOS darauf nicht sonderlich, kommen ihre Songs doch arg simpel rüber und lassen sich in Sachen Sound arg zu wünschen übrig. Aber vielleicht denken andere Hardcore Freaks anders. Das Tape enthält immerhin 12 Songs, die zumindest textlich einiges auszusagen scheinen.



[Underground Empire No. 7 Germany]
Sehr extrem geht diese Band vor. Nicht nur, dass sie anscheinend die Schnauze von unserer Gesellschaft gestrichen voll haben, auch das Cover von “bitch“ hat man gleichsam exzentrisch (manch einer würde den Begriff geschmacklos treffender finden) gestaltet. Auch musikalisch nimmt man kaum ein Blatt vor den Mund und verbreitet eine Thrash/ Hardcore Mischung, leider in sehr durchschnittlichem Sound. Keine Pflicht für die entsprechende Hörerschichten dennoch akzeptabel. Aber, auf ein Wort Jungs – Kotzorgien bei Tonträger sind so originell wie Heino ohne Sonnenbrille und will keine alte Sau mehr hören. DREI MINUS PUNKTE DAFÜR!

One of those numerous bands who, formed in 1989 achieved almost nothing since then. The third demo is like debut of average thrash core band, nothing really special or outstanding over here. Just plenty good but old ideas respected in the similar manner like thousands do adding
perhaps a little bit more personal feeling towards what they are doing. The musicanship is quite weak, the style unoriginal and the whole impression isn't as good as I would like to...
The style , as I've pointed out before, is something like thrash core in a veins of such bands as new Sepultura ( I must be kiddin', guys! ) ,Invocator (a joke too...) or Intense Agonizing (no comments). Very rarely some acoustic or keyboardic stuff is added to make the whole impression more positive. But most of all I liked quotes of Beavis & Butt-head and vomiting in "Lost in Korea" (as described on the demo cover-Korea is a cocktail made of 1:1 Romeo Lambrusco and Coca Cola). That is cool!
The tape for me (or to be more exact, to Saulius) was useful for one purpose-when we start Windows 3.1, the computer vomits like as if drunk for several days in a row.
